When/where will the 2026 topical meeting take place?

The meeting will take place at the Outrigger Kona, 78-128 Ehukai Street, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.

Are discounted rooms available for attendees at the meeting hotel?

Yes, reservations for SSA’s special discounted rooms at the Outrigger Kona will open to attendees in early 2026.

Who should attend?

SSA looks forward to welcoming anyone interested in advancing and exploring the frontiers in optical and other types of seismic sensing. Registration will open in early 2026.

When are abstracts accepted?

SSA will begin accepting abstracts in April through mid May 2026.

I’m a parent. Does SSA offer financial support for my childcare? 

Yes, the Society will subsidize the cost of your childcare for children ages 16 and under to help you participate in the meeting. SSA will reimburse documented expenses up to $12/hour per child for up to 10 hours per day (13–16 October 2026). An application will be available in June and must be submitted by September. Reimbursement post-meeting requires the submission of childcare receipts.

I’ll be traveling to the meeting from a country outside the U.S. What do I need to do to prepare? 

SSA recommends international participants apply for visas as early as possible before the October 2026 meeting. Please remember to contact your consulate to determine the wait time for an interview. Click here to request a Visa letter.
